Presidentiad, 2013

                                                           Presidentiad, 2013

As the Republic lay still
By the Banksters be-stilled,
The Commander-in-Chief of Unemployment
Called forth the future and the dream:

The startled queens of the Stonewall Bar
Would be immortalized in bronze---
Their butt-tight britches
Cast for eternity on the National Mall.

The Love That Dare Not Speak Its Name
(That famous press at the Federal Reserve)
Would so willingly press
To willingness

That trillions would issue in a rush---
As the rejoicing Artic regells
From the melted-silver
Of Republican teaspoons.

The Generals would return for solemn thanks
For parking their tanks a quarter-century
In no man's land:
Thus insuring: glory eternal.

For the dream, the dream, the dream still lives!
Or for at least as long
As the CEO with the big grin can slip
The one-hundred million in his jacket pocket.

                                                                                             Will Morgan
